Effective but reports could be faster

I decided to try the Personal Protection Plan after hearing good things. The initial setup for Mac Accountability was fairly simple, and the software itself does a good job with the screen accountability. I did notice that sometimes the Ally Accountability Reports took a bit longer than I expected to generate, maybe an extra day or so. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but it would be nice if they were more consistently prompt. The value for what it offers is fair, and it's certainly effective at what it promises.

Solid service, few hiccups

I went with the iOS Accountability for my iPhone. The software itself is robust, and the Ally Accountability Reports are really helpful for my partner. Installation on my phone was smooth, no major issues there. However, I did notice a slight slowdown on my older iPad when running the internet filtering, which was a bit of a bummer. Overall, it's a good tool, and customer service was quick to answer a question I had about report frequency, though their initial email response was a bit generic.

Works as advertised

Got the Family Protection Plan. Installed on all devices. Screen Accountability does its job. No issues with performance. Monthly report arrived on time. The price felt a tiny bit high.

Worked out great

So I got the Family Protection Plan 'cause, you know, just wanted to keep an eye on things at home. It was super easy to set up on everyone's devices, even my kid's Kindle Fire. No big drama or anything. The reports my husband gets as an ally are pretty straightforward. It just kinda works in the background, which is nice. Overall, it felt pretty chill and useful.

Great value with the trial

I was looking for something to help with internet filtering, and the 30-day free trial for the Personal Protection Plan was a no-brainer. It let me test everything out before committing. The sign-up process mentioned a promo code, but I just signed up directly. The filtering works well, but I did find myself wishing there was a slightly cheaper annual option for individuals after the trial ends.

Good protection, smooth setup

I signed up for the Personal Protection Plan about a month ago. The ordering process on the website was clear and I didn't have any issues. I was able to get the Windows Accountability set up on my desktop and the Android Accountability on my phone pretty quickly. The instructions provided were helpful. The screen monitoring feature works as described, and my ally gets the reports regularly. I had a quick question about adjusting some settings for the Internet Filtering, and their support team responded to my email within a few hours, which was good. The software seems to run fine in the background without slowing down my devices too much. It's been a useful tool.

Good app, easy to set up

I signed up for the Personal Protection Plan last month. It was pretty straightforward to get the Victory app installed on my phone and computer. My accountability partner got the reports quickly. I just wish the initial setup guide was a little more visual, sometimes I had to re-read things to be sure.

how does this compare to something like Accountable2You? I've used that before but looking for alternatives.

M Michelle Flores 3 weeks ago
I've used both. CE's screen accountability feels a bit more thorough with the screenshots, but A2U has some cool features too. Depends on what you're prioritizing.
2
K Karen E. 3 weeks ago
Covenant Eyes is generally considered more robust on the monitoring side. A2U is good, but CE really digs in with the reporting, which I found more effective personally.

Can I use this on my work laptop too? Or is it only for personal devices?

M Matt Mitchell 3 weeks ago
You can put it on multiple devices. I have it on my personal laptop and my work one, just make sure your employer is okay with it if it's their equipment lol.

S Sean J. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, you totally can. The plans usually cover several devices. Just be aware of your company's IT policies before installing anything on a work-issued machine.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had issues with the app slowing down their phone? I'm on an iPhone and already feel like it's a bit sluggish sometimes.

D Donna T. 6 days ago
Nah, I've had it on my Android for like 6 months and haven't noticed any slowdowns. Runs fine in the background for me.

I use it on an older iPhone and it's totally fine. I think maybe check your phone's storage or other apps if you're worried about performance. It shouldn't be a huge drain.

Thinking of signing up, but not sure if it's really worth it over something like Accountable2You. Anyone tried both and have an opinion?

A Abigail J. 1 week ago
I switched from Accountable2You to CE a while back. For me, the reporting from CE felt more thorough and easier to understand. A2Y was okay, but I prefer the format CE uses for my ally.

L Lisa Garcia 6 days ago
Both are pretty similar honestly. I'd say try the free trial for CE and see if you like it. If not, then check out A2Y. It really comes down to personal preference for the interface and how your accountability partner wants to get reports.

Hey, thinking about getting this but wondering about the free trial. Is it really 30 days or is that just for certain plans?

L Lisa M. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, it's 30 days for new users, pretty standard. I signed up last month and got the full month free.

J Jason D. 4 weeks ago
Afaik, it's for all new sign-ups. You just enter the promo code when you're setting up your account, I think it automatically applies if you go through a specific link too.

Just signed up and wondering where I put in the promo code for the free trial? I don't want to miss out.

M Melissa W. 1 month ago
It's during the signup process, usually on the payment page before you finalize everything. There should be a field for a 'promo code' or 'referral code' there.
6
S Stephanie Lewis 1 month ago
Yeah, don't worry, you can't really miss it. It's part of the initial sign-up flow before you complete your subscription. It's not something you add later, afaik.

Is there a way to get a discount if I want to set this up for my whole family? Like, more than just the first month free?

S Sofia Smith 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they definitely have family plans. I think it's cheaper per person if you do a family bundle rather than individual accounts. Check their pricing page, I'm pretty sure it's listed there.

L Lisa Ramirez 2 weeks ago
I got a good deal with a podcast referral code, and then it rolled into a family plan. You might also look into the annual subscription discount, that can save you some money overall.

Does this thing kill your phone battery or make your computer super slow? I'm worried about performance hits.

B Brittany Diaz 4 weeks ago
Honestly, I haven't noticed any major slowdowns on my laptop or phone. It runs in the background, pretty light on resources from what I can tell.

B Brittany Wright 3 weeks ago
My phone battery seems fine, no significant drain compared to other apps. It's not constantly active, just monitors and sends reports so it's not a huge hog.
